Dick Gustafson

Member of the Board


Dick recently retired from his own executive search firm the Gustafson Group, specializing in healthcare provider executives search. Dick spent over 20 years at Heidrick & Struggles (global executive search firm) in the Chicago office where he served as Vice Chairman of the firm and Chairman, Global Health Care Practice. Before that he served as Managing Partner for the Health Care Practice. Dick successfully led major searches for CEO’s, CMO’s, CFO’s, COO’s, and Vice Chancellor and Deans of Medical Schools.

Prior to Heidrick & Struggles, Dick served as President, Parkside Human Services (a part of Lutheran General Health Care System, now Advocate Health Care), a diversified health services operation. One of those entities was the formation of the now Advocate Medical Group, one of the largest medical groups in Ill (now part of the new merged Advocate Aurora Health). He also held a variety of other executive positions in hospitals and academic medical centers in Chicago and Philadelphia.

Dick served as Vice Chairman, Senior Advisory Board, MedAssets, Inc, on the Advisory Board of SA Ignite. Dick is also a former Board member for the National Center for Healthcare Leadership and Hospitalist Management Group. Dick was a founding board member for the National Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse (now Prevent Child Abuse America). In October 2002, Dick was named as one of the “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare magazine.

Dick holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of Chicago with a concentration in health care administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College. Dick and his wife Margo have spent 25 years in Minocqua, during the season. They maintain a home in Lake Forest, Ill where they have lived for over 35 years and close to their two sons and their families with 7 Grandchildren. They are residents of Naples, FL.

Dick served for 10 years as Chair, Membership Committee, Minocqua Country Club. He also serves as trustee and spokesperson for the Minocqua/ Kawaguesaga Lakes Stewardship Fund.

Bill and his wife Marilyn have been coming up to the Northwoods since the 1940’s. They have had their home on Trout Lake for many years.

Judy Russell

Judy graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee with a BSN in Nursing. She also attended the Parish Nurse Prep Program. Judy graduated from the University of Rochester, NY with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Community Health. She is a Certified Occupational Health Nurse, COHN-S. She has a nursing license in both Wisconsin and Illinois.

Carrie Nichols Hoye

Carrie is a retired marketing executive who is devoted to community service. Carrie served as Vice President of Marketing for GE Consumer Finance and Director of Marketing for Chicago Tribune. In 2005, Carrie formed CJH Strategic Marketing, where she defined data-driven, customer-focused acquisition and retention strategies for clients including the Washington Post, Dallas Morning News and OSI Restaurant partners.

Mark Pitman

My wife Cheryl and I became year-round residents of Minocqua in 2006, after spending the past 25 plus years living in Wausau. We have two children, Andrea age 26 and John age 23. After working 30 years with Wausau Financial Systems, I have retired as of 12/31/11!

Greg Nicklaus

Mr. Nicklaus has been employed with River Valley Bank since 1998. Previous to joining River Valley, he was the Executive Vice President and Head of Sales at Dealers Credit, Inc. for ten years. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Norbert College.

Trygve A. Solberg

Trygve (Trig) graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Trig is one part of the larger T.A. Solberg Company, Inc., a diverse and healthy organization of over 1,000 associates that also operate Tula's Café in Minocqua, several fuel and convenience stores throughout northern and central Wisconsin, Trig's Central Bakery and Trucking Facility, Trig's Recycling Center, and the Tasmania Northwoods Resort.
